Services: Hosting Setup
We will handle all the technical, behind the scenes work of getting your web space setup.
There are a lot of things going on behind the web pages that your site's visitors see and we'll handle setting it all up for you. This includes setting up applications like online email access, site logs, counters, etc. We will setup all email accounts and provide instructions on how to access them online as well as via Microsoft's Outlook Express, etc. This is all included in our design contracts at no additional charge.
Our recommended host, also known as an ISP, is Softplanet who we've worked with for years. Softplanet provides excellent hosting packages and service.
Following are some important items to keep in mind regarding site uploading and webspace:
- In order for us to upload your site to your webspace upon completion of your site or during maintenance work (if you choose to sign a maintenance contract), we will need your user id and password. We guarantee the confidentiality of this information which is stated in our contract. If this is a problem for you, please inform us that you would rather do the uploading yourself. We will not be insulted!
- Unfortunately, due to AOL's member policies, we cannot upload your site to AOL webspace.
- If you are putting your site on space provided for free by an internet service (Geocities, etc.), please note that they sometimes have requirements or limitations that may change what you had in mind for your site.
